Archiving, Open Access, and Long-Term Preservation Policy
The journal Scientific Progress & Innovation adheres to an Open Access policy, which means that all content is freely available to readers and their institutions without any charge.
No fees are charged for open access. All articles are published in open access immediately upon release of an issue, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of Open Access.
The Journal ensures long-term digital preservation, free access, and the possibility of reuse of all published materials in accordance with the principles of open science and academic integrity.
- ARCHIVING POLICY
The journal Scientific Progress & Innovations ensures long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content through modern digital archiving solutions and internationally recognized preservation standards.
The purpose of this archiving policy is to guarantee permanent access to the journal’s scholarly content even in the event of website discontinuation or changes in the technical infrastructure.
- Repositories and Archiving Systems
The journal Scientific Progress & Innovations operates using Open Journal Systems, developed by the Public Knowledge Project, which supports integration with international digital preservation services.
To ensure long-term preservation of published articles, the journal relies on the following archiving mechanisms:
- PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) – a preservation service that provides long-term archiving for journals using Open Journal Systems;
- support for the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) for metadata harvesting and indexing;
- the possibility of depositing articles in institutional and national repositories. In addition, to ensure protection against data loss, the electronic archive of the collection is transferred for storage to the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
- Technical Measures for Content Availability
To ensure the availability and preservation of its content, the journal implements:
- regular server backups;
- standardized metadata formats;
- support for international protocols for scholarly communication;
- preservation copies stored in trusted digital preservation systems.
- Self-Archiving
Authors are allowed to deposit the published version of their articles in: institutional repositories; national research archives; subject-based repositories; personal or university websites.
In such cases, the full bibliographic reference and a link to the official version of the article on the journal’s website must be provided.
- Accessibility guarantees:
The journal stable file formats (PDF) are used to ensure the readability of scientific content, a DOI is assigned to each document, which guarantees its finding. Journal materials in specialized databases (collection website, website of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, Index Copernicus, Google Scholar) are available free of charge.
- Long-Term Accessibility
The editorial board is committed to ensuring continuous access to the journal’s scholarly content through the use of international digital preservation systems and adherence to open scholarly communication standards.
